In the past I had shared images of useless pedestrian subways near Hammersmith. Instead the pedestrian refuges were so effective and popular that the subways became disused. Work is still on going, but notice how the ugly space occupying lesions have been surgically removed to make way for a more likeable streetscape. |

In what appears to be an act of aping big bad brother BBMP, Mysore City Corporation is building subways of pedestrians at not so feasible locations and with no involvement of public. Am posting my letter sent to the local English daily. |

Old pedestrian subways neglected by BBMP? Richa.Dhodi - 28-FEB-2009
With the coming up of new subways in Bangalore city ,the maintance on old subways are not been neglected? Who will look at the condition of the present subways like the ones at KR Market and Majestic? Does BBMP doing sufficient work for the maintenance of the subways present at the KR Market and Majestic? So don't you feel that the authority is lacking its duty? |

Corporation performs ‘magic’ on Nrupatunga Road Richa.Dhodi - 28-FEB-2009
BY Richa Dhodi BANGALORE: The newly-built subways on Nrupatunga Road, laid by the city corporation, are proving to be useful to the citizens of Bangalore. The second of the three pedestrian subways to be constructed on Nrupathunga road opposite St. Martha's hospital was laid on Sunday. Work on the third is to begin shortly. |
