Karnataka has a legitimate grievance that its drinking water woes will worsen on the Supreme Court enforced release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. Just as Tamil Nadu has a genuine case that without this release its samba crop would be in danger. |

800 - 900 LD of water pupmed to Bangalore from Caveri river and transported over 100 Kms along with other water sources of 250 MLD apart from the borewell run with tankers. This is apart fro what Bangalore receives rain all 12 months which no other Big city in India receives. |

We are probably going to see a severe water shortage from mid April onwards. The word going around is that this won't be a routine shortage that we are used to over last few years. May get pretty serious. |

BWSSB Ultrosonic Flow meters What can they do? psaram42 - 20-JUN-2010
I saw this leak presumably Cauvery water, during my usual morning walk to day at about 6:15 AM. Instead of picking up a telephone and putting in my complaint at some BBMP ward office I thought of putting a blog entry on Praja. The BWSSB has installed Ultrasonic flow meters all around Bangalore for detecting pilferage and or leakages. Picture 1. The Ultrosonic Flow meter installed at 80 ft Road I am not sure whether these kinds of leakages can be detected let alone the exact location identified. Picture 2.
