Builders dumping construction materials in the roas 12/22/07 13:10 - jkichaIn R.T. Nagar, near CBI road, 3-4 constructions happening in 2 streets. All the builders dump the construction materials like bricks, sand, stones on the streets. This occupies half the narrow street. Is it allowed? Do they have to pay any fee to the corporation for using the streets? They also dig up the streets to get connection and close them with just dirt. Left over food and vegetable waste discarded in a dump near our apartment complex raise a stink. Apartment residents hold their breath; and curse the municipal waste disposal staff, as they pass by the roadside dump. We could do something about it, if only we are so inclined, thanks to the work
done by Pune-based Appropriate Rural Technology Institute (ARTI) in developing a household biogas plant that feeds on our kitchen waste.

TNN's R Jayaprakash(ToI Dec 18 2007) is reporting that in the next few
weeks, the government will float a Bangalore Airport
Link Rail Corporation and set up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)
to handle the affairs. Quoting an official working on the project the
report says that the tentative name suggested is Bangalore Airport Rail Link
Corporation. This follows the meeting DMRC’s E Sreedharan had
with the governor. The governor’s office will seek Centre’s consent in
the
absence of an elected body. And get this, apparently, the train
promises to take you from MG road to airport in
just 15
