Commuter Rail to Rescue Bangaloreans during Metro Phase 2 Work?

Vasanth - 12 December, 2013 | Bangalore | suggestion | Transportation | Namma Railu | Commuter Rail Service

Metro Phase 2 Work is going to start shortly in a period of 6 months or so. Already tenders have been called for the demolition of acquired properties.

Imagine OMR- ORR Junction which is already fully choked with vehicles with Metro work on it for the extension to Whitefield.

Imagine already choked Whitefield roads with Metro work along that.

Imagine BTM Layout which takes 30 minutes to crawl 2 kms with Metro work along that.

Imagine Mysore road from Nayandahalli to Kengeri. One would take same amount of time to Reach Kengeri to Nayandahalli as they would take to reach Kengeri from Mysore unless they deviate from Kengeri towards Ring Road / Nice Road / Uttarahalli.

Especially people working in IT Corridors such as Whitefield and people travelling via BTM would be badly affected.

If a skeleton commuter rail service is started especially towards Bangarpet, people would be highly benefitted. Lots of time and pressure could be reduced.

Hope our representatives will understand this and implement commuter rail before phase 2 Metro is started.
