BMTC Bus Day – It’s a date or live-in-relationship?

kbsyed61 - 7-FEB-2011

On Feb 2nd, BMTC observed its first Bus Day anniversary and announced that Bus Day will be observed in other cities/towns like Mysore, Dharwar and Hubli. It was a subtle message that the monthly ritual of Bus day in Bengaluru would continue. I was very curious to know what BMTC is planning for this year as a result of one year learning via 12 Bus Days.

Red board and Black board - do we still require this classification?

shashi kumar y - 4-FEB-2011

Many have already posted about this topic in a different way so as to how make BMTC effective in terms of providing service.

ashok_n - 17-JAN-2011

I would like the help of Praja members to get a new bus service from Gottigere (BG Road) to Silkboard.

Current:
Almost all the buses from Bannerghatta Road go to Majestic/Shivajinagar/KR Market. There are no buses which "turn right" at the Jayadeva Hospital junction (while coming from Bannerghatta side).

I was travelling by a bmtc bus today morning, and was witness to some harassment & corruption!

I got onto a 304 from KRPuram, to go towards Hoodi around 7.30AM. The bus number was KA01 FA 831. Half way through, ticket checkers got into the bus.

Intermittent Bus Lanes - an input for BPS

silkboard - 5-JAN-2011

Those of you who are coming over to CiSTUP/IISc on Jan 10 will get to hear about in from the Professor himself. But the "intermittent bus lane" concept that was demonstrated at Lisbon in 2005 could be a source of input for evolving Bus Priority System (BPS) proposals in Bangalore.
