These days the the plans for establishing school of economics in Bengaluru is making headlines. Headlines are more to do with the controversy than details of the project and cost/benefit analysis.

Karnataka has no official state flag and the government has no intention of having one. The red and yellow flag that flutters in the state, especially on November 1, the Kannada Rajyotsava day, has no official sanctity.

A day before on my departure to US, I had the good fortune to visit "Mohsin Shariff Education & Charitable Trust Mid-Day Meals Programme" operations located in K R Puram. This trust every day prepares and delivers the 'Mid-Day Meals" for the government schools students in and around Bengaluru.

What a tragedy. A young man lost his life in our own Namma Bengaluru not because he was drunk or speeding in a Ferrari or Mazda sports car? This young man, Arjun Nair, an MBA aspirant was knocked down by a speeding KSTDC cab on Bellary Road near Mekhri Circle.

Bellanduru is 2,500 years old!!

Was very surprised to read about the history of Bellandur lake in The Hindu the other day..

The little village of Bellanduru, around which the suburb has grown, has a history that dates back 2,500 years. One of the annual reports of the Archaeological Survey of Mysore State talks of ancient Iron Age tombs discovered on the lake bund.
