Trucks, buses and autos without tail lights pbanavara - 7-APR-2008
A simple tail light can save thousands of mishaps that occur on highways and even on city roads. Yet, most of the transport oriented vehicles including BBMP buses, trucks and autos have no tail lights. It's a horrid sore scene to see the lack of tail lights on almost all of these vehicles. They are a hazard mostly on high speed zones - such as ORR and highways. Obviously 'high speed' is a relative term used in comparison with city roads. |

School vans (Omnis) - a disaster waiting to happen s_yajaman - 12-DEC-2007When I go to drop my boys at school and pick them up, a familiar sight greets me - Maruti Omnis with about 12-15 kids in each of them. There is not even space to keep their bags inside the Omni and so they are on the roof. Many of these are with white boards and so possibly illegally being used for this. If this overloading is not enough, the way they are driven is horrific. I have seen them go at full speed, jumping lights, taking turns without slowing down, etc. Sadly it seems a matter of time before something serious happens. |

I just couldn't find a right tag for this post and even thought about whether this fits at Praja. Its about an ongoing strike impacting all of us at Bangalore. Agricultural produce traders are on a strike because they are not happy with government's recent move to allow private parties to buy produce directly from farmers.
