Rail projects on track: Muniyappa : Complaints to MoS Shri K H Muniyappa on Hubli Railway Workshop On complaints about decreasing work load at the Hubli workshop and reports of closing it down, General Manager of South-Western Railway Kuldeep Chaturvedi termed the reports as false and said that upgrade of the workshop was under way and once completed there would be enough work for all. http://www.thehindu.com/2010/03/28/stories/2010032855710600.htm Union Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa said that most of the announced projects for Karnataka in the Railway Budget would start soon and that survey for them would begin shortly. |

It was long pending demand of Karnataka.

Rail Budget 2010-11 from the outset looks good for Karnataka, its good job done by Mamtha & K H Muniyappa as Window Dressing for Karnataka. PPP model is no finalised & will require Cabinet approval, so nothing will come in next 1-2 years on this. |

Most of us are aware that the CTTP-2007 report had recommended a Commuter /Sub-urban rail system for the city, totalling 204.0km (this includes city & suburban services upto Tumkur, Hosur & Ramanagaram). A few sub-urban trains are in operation & are being run by Southwestern railways (SWR), but the system is not of much help to urban commuters. |

Modernised Hubli Railway Station & Local Train Sanjeev - 5-FEB-2010
DRM of Hubli Division of SWR Mr Adesh Sharma informed that new Building of Hubli station will be ready by this year end. It will have 6 platforms with sub way connecting all platforms with Escalators. Bus shelter will be made at the entrance of Sub Way. .Cost of this upgradation is Rs 12 Crore. |
