There is much talk about the urban middle class’s apathy and how they intentionally stayed away from the polling booths despite initiatives like Lead India and Jaago Re. But, actually, problem isn’t voters’ apathy - it's the flawed electoral system.

What is the reason for abysmal voting pattern in Bangalore which must be rated from 'poor' to 'terrible'. Despite tremendous efforts on creating awareness on 'Need to vote' in both electronic and Print media, voters especially the urban  middle and upper middle class , who complain' maximum 'on any issue ,have stayed away from exercising their right to vote.

Curiosity led me to look at affidavits filed by lok sabha election candidates on http://www.myneta.info. Interesting. If I had a net worth of 108cr like Mr Surendra Babu (JD-S, B'lore North) does, I'm sure our tax collectors will shadow me everywhere I go. But not so for our candidates.

Speaking of Bangalore North, I don't find any candidate or promise that exciting, so I am thinking that I will have to go vote for the party and not person. Wish I was in Bangalore South, seems like some good opitions there.
