Some pictures from a walk we took around the Domlur flyover. Really hard to get around here in peak traffic times. Most common walk here seems to be change of direction from Airport Road to Inner Ring Road and vice versa. Naveen, SB & I decided at short notice to take a walk around the Domlur IRR/OAR (Old airport road) interchange to see the pedestrian issues in that area. I am attaching the route we too walking all around. Some points that showed up 1. Bus stop towards the city on OAR spills onto the ramp. Bus stop towards marathahalli blocks traffic entering OAR. |

As we have talked a lot about public transport as well as pedestrian friendly infrastructure, many of Prajagalu's must be aware of the fact that thousands of people cross the road in front of EGL campus/DELL office on Inner Ring Road, Domlur. Still there is no safe way and no right of way for the pedestrians. |

March 4 Bus Day - New shuttles - Bagmane, Indiranagar, Domlur, Koramangala vinod_shankar - 2-MAR-2010
BMTC is announcing new local shuttle routes for March 4 Bus Day. Instead of smaller multiple local feeder loops, we have a largish loop covering Indiranagar, Domlur and Koramangala. Frequency promised is 10 minutes, so that will help. |

Now that BMTC and Transport Minister have liked the concept, let us make suggestions to make the most, and more immportant. meaningful use of the idea-pad cum marketing event called Bus Day. For starters, I think we should try do not more than 2 corridors on each Bus day. 5 is a lot to cover and do, there is no point being wide but thin in coverage. |
