I have been looking for some data points to support what very few have said about the Race Course debate. The argument goes like this - a tall building is a better option than doing a green open park. IDS said this, and some opposed, without real data points or arguments for backing.

- SHIFT elsewhere-Till such time race in Mysore says CM,

-  No says horse lovers,

-  Yes says CM for Asia's tallest building,

-  No says environmentalists and citizens.

Hurrah - Great News - Bangalore Turf Club being shifted.

Race Course to shift to Chikkjala

The Race Course (BTC) might get land and some tax concessions to shift to Chikkajala (on Bellary Road) toward the Airport.

This is a wonderful piece of news and amazing if it indeed makes the Turf Club move.

What's coming up in the place supposedly being vacated by the Race Course? According to a TOI piece sometime back, underground parking lots will be constructed. However, no mention has been made about the ground level: public space? shops and malls?

Shastri had brought this up in the passing in this comment where he had stated that:

According to this hindu story, there is no mention of an integrated transport hub. Apparently they want to keep the space as a open green space with an underground parking lot

The matter came up for discussion recently in a Yahoogroup, which I thought fit to migrate here
