Railways can help Bangalore

Railways can play a great role in taking over Bangalore’s transport.  Yes, take over!  This requires tremendous amount of political will though.

Few steps that can take us towards this are listed below.  As we discuss many more ideas are surely going to emerge.

During my recent visit to Bengaluru in Sep, 2011, I had the occasion to do a 'Train Trip' to Hosur along with other memebrs of Praja's Namma Railu Team. Along that trip had the chance to observe the various stations on route to Hosur from Hebbal Station. Here is the picture of Hebbal station.

Yeshwantpur Hatia Express Should be made a daily train

HTE YPR EXPRESS(12835/12836) shld be made a daily train, considering the rush in the train. This is a bi-weekly train and runs twice a week. This is the only train which runs from Bangalore to Ranchi, which is the capital of Jharkhand. There are lot of ppl from Ranchi, Rourkela and sorrounding areas who generally commute by this train.

A quaint and strange station : Byappanahalli railway station

Wearing a deserted look, the Byappanahalli railway station is in dismal shape boasting of the apathy and disinterest exhibited on the part of the authority concerned. The comfort of using other hi-tech railways stations of the city with facilities like the digital indicators and computerised systems vanishes, as soon as one comes face-to-face with this desolated base.

Local train problem for ladies compartment

Kind attention: railway minister, as per the ladies demand of central line we request you to please make sure that the 1st and 2nd coach of 12-car and 9-car rake of central line should be a ladies compartment, so that it will be convinent for ladies to get in the local train because there is so much crowd in between Dombivali - Karjat - Thane in the morning time that it is impossible to get in
