In an article on Citizen Matters, titled "Bus Rapid Transport for Bangalore, today or tomorrow", Mr. Mohammad Mohsin, commissioner of the BMLTA has invited citizen feedback on BRTS in Bangalore.  I sent him a private message via the CM website to come post his query on Praja for thoughtful (and an earful) of responses.

'Take the Bus' Campaign in News Media

kbsyed61 - 19-JAN-2010

As expected, slowly 'Take the Bus' campaign is getting highlighted in News media. In coming days we will see more coverage in mainstream media. BMTC sources inform that there are plans for publicity via radio as well. Watch out then for Bus day news in the papers.

What would be or is the one reason for you to say 'NO' to BMTC Bus for daily commute?

kbsyed61 - 18-JAN-2010

* Expensive Ticket Price * No direct route * Too few buses on my route (frequency, routing) * Very hard to change the bus (interchanges, routing) * Unreliable Service and schedule (information) * Bus stand too far from office/home (last mile) * Buses are crowded and uncomfortable * Bus slower than my car/bike (speed)

Whitefield TTMC - work in full swing

sanjayv - 16-JAN-2010

I passed by the Whitefield TTMC, which is located near the Vaidehi hospital within the EPIP Industrial zone.  Construction is ongoing, in full swing.  Once again, I cannot help being disappointed at the choice of location of this TTMC.  This is in the middle of an Industrial zone.  All the residential areas are well removed from here.

The Car. The Bus. The India

bharatm - 15-JAN-2010

Summary: How long a country of billion can sustain with a culture of "My car My way"? Given the situation today, we will not be able to support even a extra car on the roads during peak hour? In this article, I will highlight few of the other problems other than traffic mess to highlight where we are heading.
