Digging of roads and improper patch up cajalal - 7-MAY-2009
The roads in Whitefield-ITPL area were in reasonably good condition after the last asphalting and periodic maintenance works. However the good conditioned roads were spoiled by the pits digged (and left without properly filling/repairing) for laying pipe conduits (for fiber cable ?) underground. |

"Big10/Volvo to office" day for Whitefield - come join! silkboard - 9-APR-2009
It grew out of an idea from Pradip, a public transport enthusiast. He suggested that we stand at Kundalahalli junction one weekday morning and hand out roses and BMTC route maps to all the car commuters. The thought has grown into a "Big10/Volvo to work day" for Whitefield. |

Sewerage system for suburban areas silkboard - 18-FEB-2009
Don't see any mention in mainstream papers yet, but last week I noted four big BWSSB tenders (see below) for work to provide sewerage system for suburban areas (CMCs) of Byatarayanpura, Dasarahalli and Mahadevpura. Its about Rs 180 crore worth of work, and I really wish some of us took the same interest we do in detailing Rs 20-30 crore worth flyover projects. What exactly is BWSSB doing here, who are the consultants, who is reviewing their plans and appreciating/criticizing their good/bad work? |

How infrastructure projects get delayed and stopped mcadambi - 17-OCT-2008
The ROB at Whitefield is delayed because of inability of the parties (tenderer and tenderee) to work out a commodity rise formula. As noted in the following article, because of unexpected and steep rise in steel and cement prices, the tenderee could not complete the project and had to cite force majeure clause. |

The metro line from EC to Whitefield has been approved by the state government. Does anyone know what is the alignment of the line? It is still not available at the BMRC site. And the monorail map on BMRC website is most illegible. I would love to see where the new line connects to the planned two line?? -Srivatsava |

Some like him, some don't. Recently, I met with Mr R K Misra, one objective was to learn about an initiative for development for Mahadevapura area (Whitefield, Marathahalli, Sarjapura etc). At the end of it, I got a note from RK for posting here on his behalf. Well, here it is, unedited. Pardon me if you think this is marketing for an individual's organization or philosophy. I am not endorsing one thing over another. Any developmental news is worth sharing. Whether we like one group's philosophy, or hate an individual's approach, we should be in the know of these "outlets" for activism. |
