Hebbal SWR station located in ward 20 adjacent to the ring road services wards 19, 20, 21 on the inside & ward 8 on the outside. The demographics of these wards lend itself to heavy public transport usage. Let us look at this station from a CRS standpoint The station itself is bare and clean. The reservation counters are empty but the station manager is helpful in printing tickets to those who ask. It has 2 platforms with tracks in the middle. Only the platform closest to the entrance is used by the YH1 CRS train. This is possibly to prevent crossing over from the other platform as you will have to walk on the tracks to cross over. We take the CRS this Saturday from Yeswantpur & Ride it all the way to Hosur & back. Will update the event with the train timings tonight. RSVP so we have a count. |

shas3n - 6-JUL-2007We have been hearing about using smart cards for ticketing on BMTC buses and looks like there is some progress on that front. This TOI report says that things are being sorted out with all involved parties to introduce smart cards. |

HSR Flyover - overhead power lines a problem? silkboard - 24-APR-2010
While the work at a flyover on Outer Ring Road near HSR Layout is in full swing, I don't see anything that indicates that the overhead power transmission lines will be raised to accomodate the new flyover. Took some pictures ...

Back to 4th of the month, May bus day is indeed on the 4th date of May.

Hello, A few thoughts and suggestions on the BMTC Bus services in the Whitefield-KR Puram- ORR areas. 1. Whitefield Saarige (WFS) service - At the outset, this is an excellent idea and it should be promoted more. But the current WFS routes are duplication of existing 500/335/333 routes. That is, the buses start from Marathahalli and go towards ITPL via either of the two routes. Suggestion - Change route of WFS-2 to : KR Puram --> Hoody Circle --> right turn --> Graphite India --> Brookefields --> Left turn at Kundalahalli gate --> Till Forum value mall on Varthur Road. Advantages - Varthur Road to KR Puram Tin factory connection; No duplication with any existing routes.

Bus Day - feedback and Suggestion Srivatsava - 23-APR-2010
We have a meeting fixed up with BMTC to discuss the feedback recieved over the last three Bus days, the lessons learnt, the actions/initiaves taken by BMTC in adressing the issues and any suggestions that can be taken up for the further editions of the Bus Day. Venue: BMTC Office, Shantinagar Bus Interchange Time : 10AM -11AM. |
